The BANDI adventure was born in 2015 during a discussion between two cousins with a passion for design, Olivier Collette and Thomas Crucifix. Thomas was looking for a bench but couldn’t find what he wanted on the market.
“So we designed our own furniture and had it produced in a workshop near our home. Our friends and family immediately liked the bench we had designed. Entrepreneurs at heart, the idea seemed obvious: why not sell them? BANDI had just been born.
We did it all while having fun! But without abandoning any of our fundamental ideas: 100% local production, timeless design, quality made to last and controlled costs.
Immediately, we decided to turn to 100% local production. We wanted to prove that it’s possible to produce high-quality goods locally while remaining competitive.
A multitude of sketches and prototypes later, we managed to keep production costs under control with our local partners. Today, we offer a high-quality product 100% made in Belgium.
To remain competitive, we opted for direct distribution “from producer to end customer”. Indeed, traditional distribution via a network of stores would have obliged us to raise our selling prices too much. Our prices have been defined with our local partners to guarantee fair remuneration for all concerned.
