When we designed our first Bandi Design prototypes, we already knew that we were going to go for 100% Belgian production. We wanted to prove that it’s possible to produce high-quality furniture locally while remaining competitive.
To succeed in this crazy challenge, we opted for direct distribution from producer to end customer. Aluminium furniture is entirely designed by a workshop in Liège, from pre-machining to painting, bending and welding. It is then delivered directly to the customer. This system guarantees fair remuneration for everyone involved in the production of your goods.
Buying a piece of Bandi Design furniture means supporting the Belgian economy and ensuring that the product has been manufactured under conditions that respect the environment and human rights.
What’s more, it allows us to showcase the know-how of Liège. Our beautiful region has lived by and for metal. Metallurgy is of historical, economic and social importance in Liège. Our craftsmen have the knowledge and tools to work this beautiful material, but are often sidelined from their know-how because of the relocation of manufacturing. There’s real potential here in Wallonia! So why continue to manufacture abroad?

When it comes to Made in Belgium, the first common misconception is that it’s expensive. It’s true that producing quality furniture in Belgium, with fair remuneration for craftsmen, requires higher production costs than furniture from factories on the other side of the world.
However, at Bandi Design, we want to keep our prices reasonable, while continuing to produce in the Walloon region. The margin taken by intermediaries would not have allowed us to remain in an affordable price range. That’s why we’ve opted for the short circuit. Our furniture is manufactured locally, in an ecological and social dynamic, and then delivered directly to the buyer.
At Bandi, we’re passionate and enthusiastic! We wanted to create furniture that called for conviviality, evenings with friends around the fire, or family meals around a good table. Yes, we’re Belgian (and from Liège, no less), and we love good food and good company.
