1. Choosing the right floor covering for your veranda

The floor covering of your veranda must be solid, easy to maintain and aesthetically pleasing. It must be able to withstand humidity and high exposure to the sun’s rays. So forget parquet (not at all suitable), and opt for tiled floors instead.

To bridge the gap between indoors and outdoors, opt for a natural style, such as imitation wood or stone. This type of tile is both hard-wearing and stylish, making it perfect for your veranda!

Not sure whether to choose light or dark tiles? A light-colored tile reflects light and reflects some of the sun’s rays. No more overheating in summer! Dark floors, on the other hand, are less messy, retain light and are therefore warmer. Perfect for the “chilly” team! What’s more, they save you between 10 and 20% in energy efficiency.

2. Defining the spaces in your new living space

You can’t fit out a veranda in the same way as the other rooms in your house! And with good reason: you’ve only got one wall to work with! Yes, you can’t place furniture with your back to the bay windows…

So it’s essential to think ahead about how to arrange the space to make it as functional as possible. Would you like to install a dining room in your veranda? Great idea! You can place the table in the center of the room, with a storage unit with its back to the wall, and a small seating area if space permits.

3. Set up a large table for family meals

Do you like to invite family and friends over for a meal together? Your veranda will be the perfect place to entertain them all. But for that, you need the right table.

The model should be big enough to accommodate people, without taking up too much space in your veranda. You don’t want a room that looks cluttered, do you?

La Bandi Design table table is perfectly suited for this purpose. Depending on the model chosen, between 6 and 12 people can sit around it. Its sleek, airy design is perfectly suited to this type of extension. Please note: the Bandi table is made of aluminum, as are most veranda structures. Ideal for a more harmonious look!

We advise you to leave about 150 cm of space around the table, so that you can install benches. benches or chairs. Benches take up less space, but chairs may be more comfortable for the elderly.

4. Simple furniture for a designer veranda

For a modern look, opt for simple, uncluttered furniture. In addition to the table and benches or chairs, you can also have a small storage unit, and why not a small sofa if your space allows.

Choose furniture in a minimalist, no-frills style. To give an impression of space, choose light, sober colors: white, beige, cream, gray, etc.

5. Find sleek decorations for your modern conservatory

When it comes to decorations, avoid knick-knacks. Modern style leaves no room for clutter! Your veranda needs to be tidy and organized. We love minimalism!

But be careful not to overdo the “c” factor. To bring life to your room, you can add pretty plants that need light: climbing plants, lemon trees, orchids, palms, succulents, cacti…

You can also place a pretty vase with fresh flowers on the table, along with a few cocooning touches: rugs, cushions, plaids…

6. Choose curtains or blinds

It’s a good idea to add curtains to your veranda, as they are good thermal insulators. In winter, they keep the heat in, and in summer, they protect from the sun. They’re also decorative, but choose carefully for a modern look! Avoid models that are too thick or patterned, which risk giving your room an “old-fashioned” look.

But what to choose? White linen curtains give a chic, natural look. A light, flowing sheer curtain is a true timeless favorite. It lets the light through and adds a cozy, romantic atmosphere to your room.

Curtains not your thing? Then you can opt for California blinds. These vertical blinds will enhance your veranda’s picture windows! They cool the room in summer and keep out the cold in winter.

Don’t forget that fabrics will be exposed to sun and light all year round. It’s best to opt for durable materials that will keep their shine!

7. Dare to mix noble materials

You’ve got it: for a modern look, it’s best to opt for noble materials. Say goodbye to plastic! Don’t hesitate to mix different materials for a warmer look. Imitation wood flooring, an aluminum table, linen curtains, a crystal vase… The result will be sublime!
