From lack comes need…
Designer? No, I’m basically a sales engineer. In 2015, I was looking for a bench but couldn’t find what I wanted on the market. Not a real frustration that kept me awake at night, but I’ve always liked working with my hands, so I made some sketches. Then, I imagined selling it; however, I knew my limits to make it last.
A family affair…
I called on Olivier Collette, my cousin, who trained as an architect. Far more technical and Cartesian, he’s been nicknamed MacGyver since childhood. This complementarity, coupled with our respective experience and networks, was to enable us to undertake a great project: Bandi was born.
100% made in Wallonia, a philosophy…
Let’s put an end to this stagnation! We’re proving that it’s possible to make a high-quality product 100% made in Wallonia. Made entirely from aluminum, our tables and benches are designed for both indoor and outdoor use, ready to stand the test of time.
Cost control through local production…
Immediately, we decided to turn to 100% local production. We wanted to prove that it was still possible to produce high-quality goods while remaining competitive. And we succeeded! A multitude of sketches and prototypes later, we’ve managed to keep production costs under control with our local partners, while respecting the ecological impact.
A short circuit…
To remain competitive, we opted for direct distribution “from producer to end customer”. Indeed, traditional distribution via a network of stores would have forced us to raise our selling prices too much. Local production coupled with short sales channels are clearly important factors in our customers’ purchasing decisions. BANDI furniture is available exclusively direct from our website and social networks, and via a network of specifiers made up of professionals in the interior design sector (architects, interior designers, decorators, landscapers, etc.).
Aluminium versus teak…
To preserve a teak table, you’d have to take it inside in winter, but it weighs a ton. Eventually, one of its legs falls off because it’s worm-eaten. Our tables and benches undergo the same process as window frames, so they can withstand the elements and remain outdoors all year round.
The ideal care…
To break them, you’d have to drop a bulldozer on them. A spritz of water mixed with bicarbonate or a blast with a pressure washer: your table and benches are as good as new! And if in a few years you’d like to change the color, we’ll take them back and repowder them.
